Canua is a deep ruby red, frequently with intense garnet reflections. The wine is remarkably ethereal given its high alcohol content. There is a marked scent of morello cherry, prune, complex mixed spicy notes with undertones of cinnamon and liquorice in the bouquet. Canua is very smooth, with great body. There is elegance and complexity in the character of the taste. The fruit and spicy notes in the nose are confirmed in the mouth. This is an exceptionally pleasant wine with a long persistence in the mouth. Canua is an excellent accompaniment for rich dishes such as venison and red meat stews and also for polenta (corn grits) with cheese.
